Significant Historic Sites – All Bells

The bell sites on this page are tagged with a black bell hence: The Black Bell Project. These are historically significant locations on Route 66 that still exist as they were during the heyday of Route 66 travel. In most cases these establishments have been there all along operating as they were during the commission of route 66 and in many cases are owned by the same family. Celebrities have often visited these places and still do. In other cases, these are establishments that have maintained the culture of route 66 during those times and have been marked as must see stops.
