Route 66 California Map Guide

  • From Kingman, Arizona, take Route 40/66 to Needles.
  • From Needles, take US 95/66, exit 133, to Goffs, continuing to Fenner.
  • At Fenner, take exit 107 on Route 40 due to a road detour until you reach Kelbaker Road, exit 78 and go south to National Old Trails Highway / Route 66.
  • Continue west on Old Route 66 through Amboy and the Bagdad site to Ludlow.
  • Proceed to Crucero Road, exit 50, then continue to Lavic Road and back onto Old Route 66 to Newberry Springs, exit 18.
  • Alternatively, you can use Highway 40 to Newberry Springs, exit 18.
  • From there, proceed on Old Route 66 through Barstow, or take Highway 40 to exit 181 to arrive in Barstow.
  • From Barstow, you can either take the 15 freeway to Victorville or travel Old Route 66/National Old Trails Highway through Lenwood, Hodge, Helendale, and Oro Grande.
  • If taking the 15 freeway south, exit 153A to Victorville. This lands you on D Street in Old Town Victorville.
  • From Victorville on D Street, take a right heading south on 7th Street.
  • Proceed south toward San Bernardino and exit onto the 15 freeway via exit 150.
  • Continue south on the 15 freeway to Cleghorn Road, exit 129, which turns into Cajon Boulevard.
  • Proceed south (left) onto Cajon Boulevard and continue until you reach Mt. Vernon Avenue in San Bernardino.
  • Continue south on Mt. Vernon (take a left).
  • Once you reach 5th Street, take a right as 5th Street turns into Foothill Boulevard.
  • Continue on Foothill Boulevard through San Bernardino, Rialto, Fontana, Rancho Cucamonga, Upland, Claremont, La Verne, San Dimas, and Glendora.
  • In Glendora, continue on Old Route 66, labeled as such and continue west on Foothill/Route 66 just before Azusa.
  • Continue on Foothill through Azusa over the river pass into Duarte, as Foothill turns into Huntington Drive.
  • Continue through Monrovia until you reach Mountain Avenue. Take a right (north) on Mountain until you hit Foothill (take a left, heading west).
  • From Foothill, take a left onto Mayflower Avenue, south to Huntington Drive, and proceed west onto Huntington Drive. You will be in Arcadia.
  • Alternatively, continue through Azusa via Huntington Drive without turning north on Mountain, and proceed through Arcadia.
  • Huntington Drive continues as Colorado Place once you reach Santa Anita Raceway.
  • Continue on Colorado Place along the freeway, passing the Raceway, until it runs into Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena.
  • Proceed west on Colorado Boulevard until you reach Fair Oaks Avenue in Pasadena.
  • Take a left and go south on Fair Oaks to Mission St, then head west to Pasadena Avenue in South Pasadena.
  • Merge onto Pasadena Avenue going west as it turns into York Avenue.
  • Continue on York to Figueroa Street and take a left (south) into Highland Park.
  • Continue south on Figueroa until you reach Pasadena Avenue and merge left onto Pasadena Avenue.
  • Take Pasadena Avenue to Broadway and merge right onto Broadway. You will pass Lincoln Heights and drive through Chinatown.
  • Continue south on Broadway until you reach Cesar Chavez Avenue; take a right heading west. You will be in the inner city near Olvera Street (Old Pueblo Los Angeles).
  • Continue on Cesar Chavez until it turns into Sunset Boulevard.
  • Continue on Sunset until you reach Santa Monica Boulevard, then merge left (west) onto Santa Monica Boulevard. You will pass through Echo Park and Silver Lake.
  • Continue on Santa Monica Boulevard until you reach Lincoln Boulevard.
  • You will pass through Hollywood, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Century City, Brentwood, and then Santa Monica.
  • Continue on Santa Monica Boulevard until you reach Lincoln Boulevard and take a right on Lincoln until you reach Olympic Boulevard. This is the official end of the route.
  • Finally, from Mel’s parking lot, take a right onto Olympic going west toward the ocean to 7th Street.
  • From 7th Street, take a left on Colorado Avenue, then a left (west) onto Ocean Avenue.
  • Take a left on Ocean Avenue, pass the exit to Highway 1, until you reach Seaside Terrace, take a right, and park at the pier. This is the end of the trail.
